What is a URI code and what does it do?

URI is the acronym for Uniform Resource Indicator. In this context, it refers to a resource indicator for Artists, Tracks, Playlists, etc. For example, if you want to make sure that your new single is accurately included in a playlist on release day, sharing your Track URI makes this process quick and easy.

How to Copy the Spotify URI

There are several types of URI available on Spotify, and this will depend on whether you want to use your Artist profile, Track, or Album as an identifiable resource. Note, that these steps are only applicable to the App version.

Artist Profile /Track / Album URI

1. Head over to your Artist profile/Track/Album/Playlist
2. Click on the vertical ellipsis **(⋮)** and select “Share” from the drop-down menu.
3. Press and hold CTRL.
